Whimsy. One of the most fun parts of gardening but oh so abused by so many. I like many different styles of garden ornament but it's got to be limited to some color, theme, or material to bring it all together and look like decorating instead of just a hodgepodge. My plan now includes copper and stone. After seeing the work of the stone cutter who made the above piece, I've been trying my own with a Dremmel tool and diamond tips. Not as authentic, but fun none the less. My ultimate project will be to engrave the house numbers on the big rock we found when putting in the gravel path and placed next to the mailbox. Lots of little test rocks before this will be around the garden. (Photos of engraved rocks, professional above and mine below.)
