The Dandelion Story - Happy Earth Day!

A man bought a new house and decided he was going to have a beautiful lawn. He worked on it every week, doing just what the gardening books advised. His biggest problem seems to be the dandelions that were growing. At first, he pulled them all out. But, alas, they grew back. He went to the local nursery and bought weed killer. This worked for awhile but after summer rains, the dandelions returned. He pulled and killed dandelions all summer. The next summer he thought his problem would be gone because the dandelions had not grown over the winter but in the spring, there they were again. This time he decided it was the type of sod so he spent a fortune putting in a new lawn. This worked for awhile and he was very happy. But soon, they returned again. His neighbor told him the problem was the dandelions in the lawns of his neighbors. So he went on a campaign to have all the neighbors kill the dandelions in their lawns. By the third year, he was exasperated because the dandelions kept returning. So after consulting the experts, he wrote to the US Department of Agriculture. Surely the government would have a solution. After several months he was sent a letter in return. Help at last! He tore open the envelope and read:
"Dear Sir: We have carefully considered your problem and consulted our national experts. After careful consideration, we feel we can offer you some sound advice. Sir, we suggest you learn to love those dandelions."
