There's Something About Mary

An invitation to take some free plants off some one's hands? Count me in! My mom's Master Gardener friend Mary said she wanted to 'edit' her mature garden so it is easier for her to manage. She gave me some great starts of daylily, sedum, thyme, forget-me-nots, epimedium, fall anemone, geranium and Annabelle hydrangea-a generous helping of plants. Her garden has many of the gardening principles I mentioned before including enclosure, color, rhythm, and whimsy. Not to mention grass that is amazingly thick and green and made me want to take off my shoes. Below are some shots of her garden, especially the colorful violas and a fern-leafed peony. Thank you, Mary!
